THANK YOU Senator Van Hollen!!
I’m about to board my flight to El Salvador, where I hope to meet with senior government officials to discuss the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to see Kilmar and check on his condition — and remind him that we won’t stop fighting until he’s home.

AOC: I saw on Fox, Jeanine Pirro says that they found so many babies and two year olds and four year olds receiving social security. I got a notice for you Jeanine Pirro: those babies receive social security because their parents died. That’s not a waste. That’s humanity. That’s America.

folks, tomorrow is the day!

What would you like to say to Morgan Griffith?

We'd like to ask what he thinks will happen to the more than *50%* of his district that relies on Medicare and Medicaid.

But we're pretty sure he just doesn't care.
We've had to add more tickets because of demand! Go to takeaction-swva.org/townhall to get yours.

From mid-2023 to mid-2024, every state went through the process of disenrolling people who were no longer eligible for Medicaid (plus lots who were but got disenrolled due to paperwork).
Low-income able-bodied people—most of whom are working, but in low-wage jobs—ARE eligible to be on Medicaid.
Mike Johnson: "We have to eliminate people on Medicaid who are not actually eligible to be there. Able-bodied workers for example, young men who should never be on the program at all."

Forcing people to pay $130 for a passport in order to vote is just a Jim Crow poll tax by another name.

It is blatantly unconstitutional.

I’m glad to see the Supreme Court see reason, listen to our advocacy, and take steps to bring back this wrongly deported father, but there are unquestionably more stories like this out there. This administration’s reckless & errant immigration enforcement has a real human cost.
BREAKING: the Supreme Court orders the Trump administration to facilitate the return of Abredo Garcia, the Maryland man mistakenly sent to El Salvador.

This is Scott – a CDC researcher working to help screen coal miners for black lung.

His entire department was eliminated last week, leaving miners across the country at greater risk of sickness and death. I’m fighting back.

Washington County Dems are delighted to hear our neighbor Jamie Hendry is running in HD 46!
Smyth Co., Va. (D) Jamie Hendry has filed to run for Va. HD 46 in 2025. It takes real work to identify potential candidates to run in these overwhelmingly Republican HDs. @90for90 could not be successful finding these candidates without local partners who understand that, “competing matters”.

It’s abundantly clear this administration wants to gut the essential services that Medicare and Medicaid provide to millions of Americans.

For that reason and because of his glaring lack of qualifications, I’m voting HELL NO on Dr. Oz to lead CMS.

Big news: on a bipartisan basis the Senate just voted to reject Trump's tariffs on Canada. The House has to vote on it next, where it's less likely to pass, but the cracks are starting to form. Trump is losing support from Republicans on his costly trade war.

Cory Booker has held the Senate floor for 17 hours and 21 minutes.

The record of 24 hours and 18 minutes is held by segregationist Strom Thurmond, who spent that time protesting the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

I am pretty sure Booker would not mind changing that history.

Matt Whitaker's confirmation was due to start at 10. Instead, Booker is heading into hour 15 of his speech.

Booker's presence on the floor also required the GOP to have presiding officers there all night. They can do shifts, Booker can't.

it is now 10:02 Eastern Time, and Booker is *officially* impeding Senate business.

the Senate convenes at 10am but cannot proceed with normal business until Booker yields the floor.
April 1, 2025 at 2:03 PM
more details for those who are interested:

what Booker is doing is not technically a filibuster because he isn't actively blocking a vote/debate on a specific bill.

but having been given the floor, he has the floor until he cedes it, thus blocking any usual business of the Senate.
Thank you, Senator Booker!
Cory Booker has taken the Senate floor and plans to filibuster as long as he’s physically able to protest the complete disregard for the rule of law by Trump and Musk.
