There isn't a piece of media out there that is worth that amount of money. Think about how much good could be done with that kind of money. You could make good media with a quarter that budget. An eighth.

The way reading is being taught in schools (in the US) for the past 20ish? Years? Is truly the basis of this and LLM isn't _helping_ but it isn't the cause. We need to get that into mainstream understanding. We need to change back to how reading used to be taught because we have really fucked it up.
We are in a crisis of literacy, which has been exacerbated by the explosion of genAI. Teachers and professors are, fundamentally, burnt out because their classrooms have become all assessment all the time, with no space for learning or creativity. And having to check for AI is insult upon injury

Respectfully disagree. I think it makes people under-think what they’re doing, and have attended several incident reviews at work lately where the underlying cause was accepting LLM suggestions. You can show me all the toy software you want but so far this stuff is still a hinderance at scale.
He’s right! You don’t have to use it—but it’s going to sweep through codeworld like a purifying fire. You may not care! But it’s not like when it draws you a bad picture of a large-breasted elf. It’s more like it shreds the foundation of what makes tech “valuable.”

When I started getting into Ateez the fandom was so lovely. Now it has gotten so big that is it mostly toxic. I'm worried about losing my favorite authors, tho I'm not above gathering commissions for fics if it gets to that. I've just lost interest in any interaction with fans.
