Chant No.1 - Tony Hadley sounding like he's singing at 33 1/3 while everyone else is on 45rpm.

Presumably tomorrow night's going to be 45 minutes of "Worker and Parasite" cartoons then. #Strictly

Don't know if they use it every week, but the first round of clips on Football Focus this morning used "Fools Gold" as a music bed. Feels like a lovely wee, understated tribute.

Things like this make me realise - it's happening. It's actually going to happen this time, and we couldn't be in better hands. Looking forward to this very much.
Why am i awake so early, you ask?

Only because i am zooming in to listen to a choir recording the bloody Souther battle hymn from the ROGUE TROOPER soundtrack!! ❤️❤️❤️

Tonight's Muppet Show guest starring Cloris Leachman. The one where the pigs take over, leading to a genuinely surreal half hour featuring Kermit The Pig, Fozzie Pig, The Swedish Pig and a Pig Newsman. The day saved by Cloris and her pig-calling abilities. Good grief.

Take the melody from the first verse of "In Pursuit of Happiness" by The Divine Comedy. Sing that melody over the top of the *second* verse. Congratulations, you're singing a perfect harmony vocal with Neil Hannon.
Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

While browsing old listings, I keep stumbling across schedules that have episodes of "Windmill" in them. I loved that thing. I hold it (and Chris Serle) almost single-handedly responsible for my fascination with old telly (well, him and Uncle Frank Muir on TV Heaven). Magic served up, every Sunday.

Students of the silly Radio Times listing may be as delighted as I am by this 1984 one for "The Demon Cakestand of Beestley Chase, the opening Tale From The Mausoleum Club. Stephen Fry and Michael Ripper, together again for the first time. Terror.

One of the nicer wee Christmas traditions - the Radio Times specially posed photoshoot in which all of their heavy-hitters tell us about their festive plans. The 1982 one is an absolute pippin.

Beatle Season is upon us once again and the merchandise rains down. Quite tickled by this dinky wee "3D Perpetual Calendar". 35 quid, which is a fair amount to pay if you want your "daily dates with a Beatlemania twist" (it says here)

Very much enjoying revisiting Blake's 7 Series B, but it is definitely the season where Blake's decided to be that candidate on the Apprentice who runs a task and gets an idea in their head they won't shift from, despite everyone else frantically telling them it's an awful idea. That, every week.

"The Omega Glory" really is that bad. Contemptibly so. Probably my least favourite episode of any TV show I've ever watched, and I've seen some stinkers. No mercy. Pleased to see it NOT on this list. See also "Code of Honor", and that Next Gen episode that riffed on Brigadoon.
Every "Star Trek" series has a few episodes that most fans can't stand, but some of them are actually a lot better than people tend to make out.

Last night's Muppet Show - Bob Hope. During their version of "For What It's Worth", sung by a chorus of woodland animals - a Muppet Fox. Look, there he is at the back left. You don't get too many Muppet Foxes, but they're always a joy when they turn up.

I'd genuinely no idea about this. Absolutely brilliant!
The greatest comic short story of all time. The original Peanuts strip that inspired the masterpiece. From Detective Comics 500 by Len Wein & Walt Simonson

Something else that brought me up short while reading "Wild and Crazy Guys" - the fact that Mick Jackson, traumatiser of generations thanks to "Threads", later directed the magical "L.A Story". Also "The Bodyguard". I think I knew all that but didn't make the connection.

Mani and Reni locked into a groove was a thing of magic.

If you've not watched it, the rehearsals on the reunion film Made of Stone, are just sublime. They way those two vibe off each other is something that doesn't come about very often and now it's gone.

One of the absolute best in every way - such a beautiful friend

Dream jobs do come along… I’ve spent the last few months immersed in BBC Scotland’s City Lights as Assistant Producer on a new 60min doc telling the story of the show. With vintage clips + new interviews, it’s pure dead brilliant!

On telly/iPlayer 30th November.
