Just a week until the 48th #BoltonCriticalMass ride. This will complete 4 years of Bolton Critical Mass. Let's get some critical mass into it. We really need to show Bolton Council that they should speed up infrastructure implementation very quickly.

We finally have wand-orcas on Manchester Road (Bolton), not that they make a lot of difference. Junctions and the worst sections are not protected at all. A very poor cycle infrastructure scheme.

Had a tryout of the new Deansgate cycle lanes in Manchester this afternoon and rode down to Chorlton Park (Mauldeth Rd) and back on the Chorlton cycleway. All good to very good; puts Bolton to shame. No cost to go there on the train because I'm an old git.

This is remarkable from #Oxford - citizens’ assembly comes out overwhelmingly in favour of measures to make the city more walkable and cyclable. It would be great to see similar in Manchester @walkridegm.org.uk @cycloxoxford.bsky.social
Other recommendations of the assembly included improving Park & Ride (97% support), better community medical facilities to reduce the need to drive to hospitals (91%), a ‘kite mark’ for employers’ travel policies (94%), bus franchising (88%), and promoting active travel to younger people (86%).

Thankfully, this is legal now that the PSPO cycling ban has been lifted - well done @boltoncouncil.bsky.social.
