If you crawl for years on your stomach to people who hate you, begging for their indulgence, while relentlessly insulting and deliberately offending people who might be inclined to support you - while offering almost nobody anything they want - then you are going to be deeply unpopular.

Keep going, Zack @zackpolanski.bsky.social - you're now being yelled at by the far right, the conservative Government and the official Conservatives.

A better future is possible; it's just not wanted by vested interests.

There is your best opportunity. And biggest threat.
All in one day:

Immigration Minister lied about me with a slur.

Wes Streeting then tried a different attack.

And the Evening Standard write yet another attack piece because I dare to say we need to tax the rich.

President Trump claimed that Mohammed bin Salman “knew nothing about it and we can leave it at that.”

What is truly pathetic about Labour is that this is all they have got. They have failed so spectacularly already, despite a whacking great majority, to even attempt to govern positively that all they have is punching down on marginalised groups and saying "oh but Reform will be worse".

This government is considering introducing more private finance into our NHS.

They're promising to learn from past mistakes about PFI, but this promise has been made time and time again.

Sign our petition and tell them you don't want any more private finance in the NHS. Link in the first comment.

Woah! So Labour's position really is, 'telling us off for breaching human rights undermines the case for human rights'? Proper Trumpian stuff from Labour's answer to Suella Braverman.

The government continuing to incite fear and hatred against members of the public here, hand in hand with our horrible, poisonous media outlets, both to evade responsibility for their own conduct and to fill space that might otherwise be stories about how unpopular they are and how much they suck.

This is a terrific article on pub closures, including looking at the Trafalgar near me in Colliers Wood.

It’s so impressive what @londonermag.bsky.social, and @jim.londoncentric.media’s @londoncentric.media, are doing for London journalism.

They claim to save London pubs. So why have they shut so many down?
Linea Homes has been called the “grim reaper” of pubs. Their targets include some of Peckham, Wimbledon and Camden’s most iconic boozers.

None of this needed to happen and indeed, it couldn’t possibly have happened without the 100% support of our horrendous national press over years, trumpeting the bullshit of the worst people in politics and telling the public it was all great. And now they have fucked it into the sun, yet again.

Dismayed by the "I loathe Gl**ner but his arrest should scare us all" takes. The bar for arrest over a social media post *should be extremely high*, but a guy who's harassed trans people 19 hours a day for 8 years, telling his 600k fans to attack any trans women they see, clears that bar v easily?

I feel like the automatic position of all people in Britain should be that the national press are *scum*, to be reviled and spat upon on sight, unless they can swiftly provide evidence to the contrary.
Utter scum bastards. A position of total, automatic hostility towards the entire British press is where the whole of populace of this island should always be. These people are *vermin* and their associates must be required to disassociate themselves from this.

Since 2023, translators and interpreters have seen work dry up, rates plummet and their jobs reduced to editing AI-generated output. Some are leaving the field, others are considering bankruptcy. All despite any major upgrade in translation quality.

This is how AI is killing translation work:

Few industries have been hit by AI as hard as translation. Rates are plummeting. Work is drying up. Translators are considering abandoning the field, or bankruptcy. These are their stories.
