It’s been my experience that Christians who use the Bible to justify state repression are usually not quoting any part of the Bible that contains Jesus

I don’t like the move by some in the Native community to say we aren’t DEI. It’s true, but that’s besides the point. “DEI” as used by the right is a catch all term for anyone not white, male, or straight. It’s dog whistling racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. and we simply reject this kind of hate.
