Working towards a happier Greater Lafayette, IN using nature-based solutions and increasing access to greenspace around the Wabash River!
We had a great workday killing invasive honeysuckle at a local city park with volunteers and partner orgs. We came out muddy and our park came out healthier! Spotted some #nativeplants rue anemone and waterleaf. Hoping they flourish without the invasives!

These were created for my work with TropWATER & their collab with the Cape York Water Quality Partnership #SciArt

Blue mist flower (Conoclinium coelestinum) is looking dreamy in the morning sunlight 😍😘 This blue-purple midwest native flower is usually about 2 feet tall and likes dappled sunlight. It usually prefers medium-wet soils, but these pictures were taken in a bone-dry backyard.

As we enter fall, it's so important that we tell everyone to leave those leaves! Mads Torres designed a poster to help us.

Lightning bugs are one of the most charismatic insects we've got. Actions we take to protect them protects many insects!

Cup plants are in bloom right now! Native to central IN and much of the midwest US, cup plants have unique leaves that form a small basin that captures water. Critters use these tiny basins as a water source.

Did you leave 1-2 feet of dead stems behind from last year's plants during your spring garden cleanup? The white, fluffy debris on the leaves in these photos is from the insects burrowing out a hole in the stems. Stem-nesting bees use dead plant stalks to lay their eggs.
