For what it’s worth, I don’t think the internet is bad. I think almost everyone, myself included, needs to read more books. A lot of people, especially young ones, will say they can’t even focus long enough to read a single book, nor do they have any interest in them.

things I’m mad about today:

idiot humans killed so many rattlesnakes that actually *rattle* to warn you before before they bite that we’ve accidentally selected for SILENT rattlesnakes that bite first and ask questions later in many places

way to ruin one of nature’s most polite warning systems

sometimes I feel like my hottest take is that most people are, for the most part, pretty decent

it's easy to lose track of this given how many assholes we encounter on a daily basis, but I think it's true

It’ll help me finally quit Twitter when the icon on my phone becomes the international symbol for “don’t do this”

For a lot of us, losing Twitter isn’t really about losing ties to the company itself. It’s losing 10+ years of real, asynchronous communities, professional development, the ability to get gigs and clients, the ability to promo/share your art on an extremely broad scale. The loss of that has impact.
