Finding out someone I’ve respected and admired since I was in high school is an absolute monster was not on my bingo card for 2025.
I have not read the article on Neil per my husband’s advice, since I’m an SA survivor with CPTSD and OCD. But husband read it and gave me the sparknotes.

Slowly converting my home office, which I never use anymore, into the retro entertainment (& craft) room. Bought the Zenith CRT off a friend last summer for $100. PS3 is backwards compatible. Hunting for box sets of Murder She Wrote seasons 5, 7-8, 10-12. Also special ext. ed. DVD FoTR and RotK.

What even is my life. Working part time doing a job I’m good at, in a place that accommodates my disability. Busking weekly on the piano in a coffee shop owned by a dear friend. Hosting craft circles, growing a garden, making a home. It’s been a pretty decent 2024.

I got up at 6:30am yesterday and made these babies. Pumpkin still needs perfecting, was a little blah this year. Pecan was awesome, adding walnuts was a big brain move and balanced the sweetness, but could have used like 3 more minutes in the oven.

I have nothing but contempt for Musk but I’m gonna instablock anyone who decides making him a woman or trans (“Elonia”) is a clever insult.
In a sane world Elon Musk would not just have less power, but no power at all. Not even a drivers license. He’d be the town creep who everyone shuns and throws rotten fruit and garbage at on sight. Gollum only more annoying.

We continue to build up our physical media collections of things we loved but lost or never had the opportunity to get physically before. I’m kicking myself for selling my entire Animorphs collection in 2007 out of desperation when my dad threatened to not give me college tuition help.

Stopped in at my favorite coffee shop (tbh it’s practically my second home) and the owner grinned and said “I got you a present!”
She got a beautiful baby grand to keep in the shop and once it’s tuned I’ll be playing it regularly since I’m there almost daily.
I have such a good life.
