‘Fundamental issues’ must be addressed in a Bill which would introduce a process where MSPs could be recalled - potentially losing their seat.

Completely fair comments from Cat Smith MP here. So much more is needed and could be done to safeguard electoral law. There's also nothing stopping future Governments from manipulating the Electoral Commission for its own gain.

Completely fair comments from Cat Smith MP here. So much more is needed and could be done to safeguard electoral law. There's also nothing stopping future Governments from manipulating the Electoral Commission for its own gain.

Adjacent, but I think this really reinforces the importance of residency voting as argued by the migrant democracy project www.migrantdemos.org.uk
If our politics can no longer be trusted not to change the deal retrospectively, then migrants need the vote to ensure their rights.
