Another stop on my upcoming vacation museum tour will be the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore. I've wanted to go there for a long time. art.thewalters.org/object/57.876/ #HistoricalRomance #AmWritingRomance

Another thing I'm planning for my vacation is a long overdue return visit to the Banneker-Douglass-Tubman museum. They have an amazing virtual tour online my.matterport.com/show/?m=TXcF..., but there's nothing like going in person. #HistoricalWriters #AmWriting

Really looking forward to visiting the Maryland Center for History & Culture on my vacation. The costume collection is small compared to some museums, but it has some amazing items like this coat. www.mdhistory.org/resources/co...

If AIs are profiling our search history, I hope someone somewhere realizes that writers search for some pretty weird stuff. I was just looking at my search history last night, and it paints quite a picture.

Finally scheduled my first full week of vacation in nearly 9 months. I need R&R and drafting time, but there's gotta be time for museum and bookstore visits, too.

I needed to hear this today.
writers and artists will go "this isn't good enough." my brother in christ, you're creating something new out of nothing and expressing yourself creatively. your productivity and unrealistic standards of perfection do not define you or the worth of your art. you're doing great.

If you're buying from Kobo and read lots of indie books, consider a VIP membership. $10/year and you get 10% off indie books.

*The discount applies to some books through publishers too, but in general, not the Big 5. But for romance readers: you get 10% off Sourcebooks titles!

I've watched so much drone footage of the settings where this contemporary romance series occurs that I've nearly talked myself into buying a drone. It looks so fun! #amwritingromance #writingcommunity #amwriting

Because writing is a tough journey, it's easy for writers to build up one book or one opportunity as your Big Break. Your One Shot. The truth is, there is no one big break. There are always more opportunities.

Some days it's like the words are coming out through an eyedropper, but I'm determined to hit page count tonight. Found some drone videos of the coastal area where the story takes place, so hopefully that'll keep me going. #amwriting #contemporaryromance #amwritingromance

Sent the short-short on its way, finally. Most of the time after I've sent in a submission I have the keep-checking-email, what's-going-to-happen thing going on, but I've got so much draft to get out on other projects that I may not have the cycles for fretting. #writingcommunity

Just looking at the sales numbers for the non-fiction books whose covers I recently designed for some friends, I get the impression that certain colors sell better. The book I thought had the least interesting content is outselling the rest by a mile because I gave it the prettiest color. 🙄😄

Just finishing up a super-short I wrote on a dare. My usual ratio is 10x words of draft to usable copy, which I think is kinda high, and I'm trying a new method that may be more efficient. But although the quality on this short piece is decent, I don't know how that'd hold up across 100K.

For the first time in my adult life, we have a holiday tree and a wreath up before December 1st. For the last few years, we didn't decorate at all, so this is quite a change for us. 🎄

Watching the Season 5 finale of Unforgotten, and this show is so grim that I'm gonna need a palate cleanser, something funny like Agatha Raisin or maybe even Hallmark. It's well done, no question, but really dark.

My maternal grandmother was into scrapbooking before it ever was a thing, and the ones she kept for her senior citizens group were beautiful but also surreal in a "Does she know how odd this is?" kind of way. I wish we'd made photos of the pages before we donated them to her group.

Thanks, Universe.
