I cosign this sentiment 100% and think it's very helpful for when you think about some of the fawning but detailed coverage in the NYT versus more critical coverage in many other outlets that's sometimes thinner.
aside from that I'll pull back the curtain a little and say: the AI industry has been very resistant to giving access to journalists who do not seem like true believers

I'm editorializing here, but one of the many problems with Britain's classist/racist film industry is that if a marginalized storyteller DOES manage to get in the room, they're ushered toward grounded/"relatable" projects while posh people get more freedom to explore a range of genres and tones.

The one at Wandsworth Sainsbury's is so bad that I'm pretty sure the staff switched it off so it would remain open.
I do think it says a lot about both countries that the Netherlands and the UK both have these horrendous “scan a receipt to exit” gates in supermarkets, *and* that the UK ones don’t work.
