No one experiencing the tragedy of a miscarriage should be arrested, much less abandoned in jail for 5 months with a $100k bond. But that’s exactly what happened to Mallori Patrice Strait in Texas. Women, particularly women of color, in this country are no longer allowed dignity even in extreme loss

My loyal companion Bode died last night of canine lymphoma. Since 2016, he was by my side at work and at play. He was always happy and no matter how bad other things were, he always made me smile. Quite simply, he was the best dog ever. I already miss him terribly.

We should be investing in rural communities and making them better places to build a life & raise a family - not shutting down rural hospitals by choking off their funding.
