There is nothing comforting about “I’m just as scared as you” coming from the legislative branch that’s supposed to keep checks and balances on the executive. While she thought it was relatable, it is actually mortifying.

I have just suggested to my county and state Democratic parties that we get ready in case the SAVE Act passes in the Senate, so we can help women get the documents they need to register to vote. I signed up to be a voting registrar and we are going to run into this problem if the law passes.
