Located copies. However Doyle's Iguanodon footprints, and the casts of them, are still at large.

Like most English-language journalism about prehistoric animals in the mid-1890s, evidently written and illustrated by someone who had the books of H.N. Hutchinson to hand. In this case Creatures of Other Days (1894).
Another 1896 #paleoart newspaper illustration of extinct animals, for an article on de-extinction, ahead of its time!
They're glad these animals are dead. The purpose of the article is really to describe a bunch of cool animals and just completely shit on the dodo, just incredibly critical. (pic 4)

I was fortunate enough to look through Richard Owen's sea-serpent-related clippings and notes yesterday in the @nhmlibraryarchives.bsky.social. Came face to face with this goofy king of the deep. Shades of the infant form in Shin Godzilla.

Thank you!
Got to the part about prepositional phrases.
I'm sure you'll have seen this.. On a well-known news website..

USA - if #Trump wants to be compared to a king, think our Henry VIII. Fat, bloated, self-opinionated, ruthless, arrogant, power-crazy. Touchy, hypersensitive, disloyal. Think six wives, Cardinal Wolsley, Thomas Cromwell. Loyal advisors, upset him, beheaded.
#ElonMusk
Just sayin'..

Is the best way for Americans to deal with this nonsensical birthday military parade on Sunday is to just.. Not turn up. No one there. No one for troops to use the "big force" on. No one for him to rage about or threaten..
Just an indifferent silence.
That would so sting his vanity..

The new Earth Sciences History has everything you'd want to know about the 1824 Geological Society meeting in which the names Plesiosaurus and Megalosaurus were announced. Looks like the room the meeting took place in now has storage heaters, so don't go up in the evening unless you want frostbite.

‪Palaeoart enthusiasts will know about Alice B. Woodward, but you hear much less about her sister Gertrude (1854–1939), a prolific illustrator of scientific papers on subjects like the Terra Nova Expedition and Piltdown Man. Lots of letters and originals are held by @nhmlibraryarchives.bsky.social
