Today's my birthday so I'm posting my favorite bird, the Tufted Titmouse. (Even if it wasn't my birthday I probably would've posted a Tuftie...they are so cute!)

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

You might be thinking, "CPSC, does a dry Christmas tree really burn that much faster than a well-watered tree?"

Really admire the confidence it takes to write a song that attempts to add to the Christmas canon. You want to invent a new reindeer named Dingus? Sure. An Elf who likes natural wine? Why not? Maybe Santa’s got IBS now! Write a hook catchy enough and literally anything is possible

A White-breasted Nuthatch striking the classic nuthatch pose. These birds have an extra strong hind toe that allows them to scoot downwards face-first.

A male Downy Woodpecker perches on a snowy branch. Males tend to forage more on small branches and plant stems, while females are more often found foraging on larger branches and tree trunks. This is due to the males chasing off the females from the better food spots

Close-up of a sweet Black-capped Chickadee with a shallow depth of field. Chickadee noggins don't get bigger in the fall and winter but their brains do about by 30%. This increase in the brain's memory center helps them remember where they have stored thousands of seeds.

Geese on the lake. This was off that roll of Lomo Turquoise I shot a while ago. I think lomo turquoise is a bit more difficult to get good results out of than lomo purple, but definitely still fun to shoot

one day people will look back at the term “biological women” the same way we look back at racist terminology from the 1910s. a euphemistic anti-science phrase with no actual meaning other than indicating an intent to discriminate against a group based on the circumstances of their birth
