I collect hobbies like most people collect... um, collectibles?
And the transphobia, with their enablers, have already come out.

Today is a bleak day, but we march - trudge, perhaps, but still - forward. Survival is rebellion, sometimes.

Take a breath today. Care for yourself. It's gonna be a long four years, and whatever activism/resistance we do has to be done sustainably.

Imma need the activists and people opposed to Trump to reach out and form connections with people and groups locally doing the same thing. Then, learn to look past minor - or even significant - disagreements and embrace cooperation towards the common good. That is how we move forward.

The HRT locker, month 2: chest pain, facial hair growth slowing some, and starting to feel those emotional changes. Oh also, um... milk? Whee! That was very unexpected. Basically no change to libido, but there have been some broadening of my preferences. Very enlightening, and freeing, overall.

And right as my TikTok feed came around to showing me all the prettiest places in the Pacific Northwest, too. Dang it. Oh well, not the first I've lost - hello LiveJournal, and my first NSFW Tumblr - and likely not my last.

I mean, we all know Trump is moving the ceremony indoors so no one talks about the crowd size, right?

Y'know, if I only just got on HRT only to get yanked off of it in a few months should Trump or RFK do shenanigans I'll be... A lot of things. This is a rough timeline to be living in.

Just sayin'...

YES THIS HAPPENED. Also in a general sense if ASL interpreters are working one of my events and there is time, I try to give them access to any prepared materials and generally go over things that I suspect will present an issue for them. The idea they're not needed or useful is shitty ableist BS.
Reminds me of the time at WorldCon when an ASL interpreter completely stole the show from Scalzi by signing the HELL out of a short story filled with weird alien words. Scalzi was laughing too hard to read half the time.

ASL interpreters are valuable and amazing and must be protected.
Imagine being threatened and irritated by ASL interpreters. Shut this shit down. There is no validity to the "point", they are not valid, shut up, go away. Sick of these snowflakes.

In the meantime: here's the extraordinary Sarah Tubert: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n4Y...

"My game doesn't have politics in it" Okay well I'm gonna go play Baldur's Gate 3 where I can deprogram a now-former cult member while fighting against a bunch of brain-wormed conspiracy nutters who use religion to justify their blatantly fascist, tyrannical takeover of the government.

Was out with my wife walking around the lake earlier, and a fellow pedestrian came up from behind us. He said "pardon me, ladies" and when we moved over he looked and said "Ope, lady and gentleman."

Statistically, you were right on target. Thanks for the gender euphoria, sir! 😃

Tough to definitively say "worst" without a fair, universal metric to measure by... But he's definitely up there.

TMW a conversation causes days of introspection and uncertainty. I think I have made some important decisions, though. Maintaining boundaries is important, and if your parent can't love you as you are then they don't love YOU. They love the image of you they have in their mind.
