The ACA made my whole self-employed life possible. For almost ten years, I was able to build a career that actually worked for me AND keep receiving necessary care to address the consequences of childhood medical neglect. And I still deserved better. We all do.

Senate Democrats had the power to do one thing: This shutdown. And this is what they did with it. Maybe this is some brilliant political calculus, in which case I'll happily eat my words. But right now, it feels like the beginning of the end of the party in its current form--and by its own hand.

Please remember that your Senator is neither your friend, nor your enemy. They work for you. Call them and give them clear input. And don’t be afraid to tell them you’ll be supporting their next primary challenger if they don’t show a spine. They work for you. Threaten to fire them if you have to.

finally, finally, finally catching up with rhoslc (on ep 10). very into bron and todd’s father-daughter dates dramaturgically. he’s always like, sigh, it’s my court appointed (read: ordered) weekend. that’s probably too mean, but she’s also tearing up over a banana split right now, so.

good morning from the emergency room waiting room. (everything’s fine; so far, so good) i understand why you can’t smoke on hospital grounds, i do. nevertheless, will always be strange there’s no dedicated part of every hospital that’s overlook hotel bar or casino-adjacent.
