As a child, she resembled a doll; I often carried her to the small shop around the corner. Do not cry for me, I am strong, but share the truth. Know the truth.

Remember her name, Ahlam, which means dreams. Ahlam has left us, and now you are left with a choice: to be on the right side of history or otherwise. There is no other option.

I wrote about her a few weeks ago as she became sick due to a lack of food and water. After a week, she was hospitalized, and today, she surrendered, a victim of the starvation war Israel has waged on Palestinians.

Heartbreaking for me, my niece Ahlam has ascended to God. She was martyred, far from her bed, home, and neighbourhood, displaced in south Gaza.
