Excited to share our new @narjournal.bsky.social paper!

Using ReLo and AlphaFold, we described a network of interactions between Drosophila piRNA pathway factors suggesting new links how they coordinate to ensure transposon silencing and genome integrity.

Our collaboration with @mbonhivers.bsky.social is now out in @plosbiology.org! 🎉Using U-ExM, we mapped the formation of the flagellar pocket collar in T. brucei. Huge thanks to everyone involved — one step closer to #PhDone!

The flagellar pocket collar (FPC) is a cytoskeletal structure essential for nutrient uptake & immune evasion in #Trypanosome. @mbonhivers.bsky.social &co use U-ExM to provide novel insights into FPC biogenesis, and reveal 2 unknown cytoskeletal structures @plosbiology.org 🧪 plos.io/4n3bWi6

Previously on BioRxiv, and now a final version of our paper is out! What a great lesson in plant self-organization: Auxin targets its own transporter through a cell-surface kinase complex in a positive feedback loop www.cell.com/cell/fulltex...
ABP1/ABL3-TMK1 cell-surface auxin signaling targets PIN2-mediated auxin fluxes for root gravitropism
In gravistimulated roots, gravity perception in the columella redirects the flow of the plant hormone auxin toward the lower root side, where it inhibits cell elongation for downward root bending. Thi...

Another day, another wonder;

Archea parasite with a circular genome of only 238Kbp (!) found within a dinoflagellate.

It only encodes for replicative machinery: can replicate but not sustain itself, making that line between life and non-life blurry! What a life

Thank you for today’s seminar at @imgprague.bsky.social !
Here are my 5 (not so standard) rules for communicating science to general public:

1) People are not stupid. They just don't have the knowledge.

Yes, people can be clever and yet still be uninformed about cell biology. People also can know everything about cell biology and be completely dumb.
