Having a cold is some real bullshit. I did go up for Thanksgiving, but ate outside. And unless I perk up, I'll miss Bike the Lights, which is actually really fun.

One way in which I am incredibly boomer-coded is that I have multiple paper calendars up in my home. It's become a yearly tradition for my husband to make one of photos from the last year- this lives on the fridge and gets labeled. But I also have the French Republican calendar on a wall.

Drivers: I couldn’t see you, it was raining
Drivers: I couldn’t see you, there was frost on my windows
Drivers: I couldn’t see you, it was dark
Drivers: I couldn’t see you, the sun was in my eyes

Also drivers: I never see anyone using that bike lane, let’s rip it out.

Woke up at like 5am with a sore throat. Now I'm trying to figure out to go up and see people or not. My parents are all for it, which is wild to me when my mom's immune system has really been hit by chemo.

I actually do like turkey, sorry there's so many haters. Any meat leftovers are getting made into soup or non traditional bao

Lmao Pope Leo threw a rave for an archbishop's 75th birthday this is kind of incredible

Where did the burning toast smell=stroke idea come from?

I've spoken to a lot of people having strokes, specifically asking them a lot of questions, mostly to catch if anything worsens and not one has mentioned burnt toast smell.

Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

Very cool to be taking away access to affordable healthcare during an ongoing pandemic which sometimes gives people long covid, with the possibility of bird flu lurking in the wings. These motherfuckers are evil

Things are very nerve-wracking and signs point to them getting much worse. And also I'm really enjoying this fall. It's got two types of activities: soggy and cozy. Gotta balance those out. Hiking and cleaning gutters needs baking and knitting.

I actually did a decent job of making my food ahead of my long set of shifts. I have navy bean soup (now frozen), baked pasta with squash and broccoli, miso eggplant, potato leak soup (just add milk), milk bread. I do need to make rice and cook up some box choy but I'll have time this afternoon.

tourists. Someone mentioned how the helicopters new location is 1.5 hours away from Newport. Far too long to save lives.

“Getting rid of a service that saves lives for an agency that destroys them is a disgrace,” said a Newport resident.

I have had terrible luck with the Aurora. Went out to check tonight and it's cloudy and sprinkling. I love this weather, but I really would like to see them someday. Seeing pics from hundreds of miles south of here I feel I should have a chance.

It's awfully solid clouds to the North every time I've peeked out tonight.

SEATTLE!!!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

I called both my Senators asking them to support leadership that isn't Schumer. Told one of them (Murray) that she should put herself forward if she's willing to start playing hardball with the Republicans.

When I think about all the people who will be winding up in the ICU and/or dead due to things that could've been prevented with affordable access to outpatient care and medications I feel just so anxious.

I do not like the sound of brand new state of the art equipment. Sounds like AI bullshit.
