Very sad to see my uni (University of Nottingham) suspending its Music degree and all undergraduate courses in Modern Languages, on the basis that they have low uptake and the uni hasn't enough money to carry them.
Students will lose out, the uni will lose out, society loses out

Analogy. Counterfeiters might want to make a few fakes to buy something nice or flood an economy with fakes to debase the currency. Maybe disinformation is like that, you sometimes want to deceive and sometimes want to salt the earth because both tactics can protect the disinformant
