Wes Streeting has been known to tack left for popularity before. Usually it lasts about 72 hours before he tacks right again and becomes fully draconian - and harsher than the Tories - on the very same issue.
See trans rights and striking workers.
Is Slippery Streeting is being lined up as the left alternative to Starmer in the inevitable ladership contest?
Yes, you read that right 😁😬🙄

On 23rd Feb, Germans go to vote in a General election.

Recent EU election results suggests there's still a strong east/west cultural, economic & political divide.

And this map of same illustrates, brilliantly, how education is the kryptonite to populism (blue denotes support for AfD)

People have been talking about this for months, and it’s unbelievable that they still haven’t come up with a proper plan. Imagine deciding to make 12,500 people redundant and not even creating a plan to make sure those people are properly supported?! 🚨

Greens all voted against proscription.

Lib Dems abstained - which is shameful when they often try and claim the mantle of defending civil liberties.

(It just doesn't stretch to holding cardboard signs opposing genocide apparently.)

UK ministers like Douglas Alexander endlessly say they regard Israel's settlements as illegal...

... while refusing to actually ban settlement goods from entering the UK.

In practice, doesn't this mean the UK condones the illegal Israeli settlements?

Govt's £100bn price for nationalising England water is bogus

£100bn calculated by OFWAT: Value at privatisation X annual rate of inflation + investment; repeated each year. The answer does not represent any value.

On this basis a car bought for £10k in 1989 would have £50k value.

Utter nonsense
Public ownership is the only way to save the water industry
Public ownership is the only viable alternative but is opposed by the government
