Lord, please never let me be hated by someone as skilled as that Vanity Fair photographer. Let all my haters be incompetent.

The base for my vintage ceramic Christmas tree got broken years ago. My partner just made this beautiful wooden base for me 🥹 I love it so much

I am looking for a TV show or movie that will keep me so engaged I don't want to simultaneously scroll on my phone. Have recently watched Pluribus, Heated Rivalry, Roofman, The Chair Company, Peacemaker. Hit me with your best shot, and assume I have access to all streaming services.

Had some real nerd shit going on this weekend. A good time was had by all, and somehow I won this six-way free for all.

It's my baby girl's second birthday today 🥹🥰

Neither my partner nor I are religious, so we never felt right saying "bless you," to each other after sneezing. We had a full-on discussion about what to say instead and landed on, "You sneezed." Acknowledgement felt necessary, but beyond that, /shrug.

I am, yet again, a bit late with October's wrap up, but here are the last two months. Kind of hit a wall in November, with the shorter daylight hours, busy work schedule, more gym time, and an adventurous (not a relax-and-read-on-the-beach) vacation. Hoping to finish strong in December!

I've been in a bit of a reading slump since finishing Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid, which was hands down my favorite book I've read since January 2024. But I started By Any Other Name by Jodi Picoult yesterday, and I can't put it down 🤩 big Lost Apothecary/Weyward vibes, and I'm loving it.

Sat down with my uncle and cousin today and counted all the pets in my family. From Grandma to my niece, we've got 32 total (not counting fish), mostly cats. Here are my copy/paste Merry and Pippin!

Had our first snow of the season last night. Partner just told me he put a scraper and brush in my car. 🥹 It 100% is the little things.

Felt like putting up seasonal decorations for the first time in years, and it's the first time Merry and Pippin have seen a Christmas tree. Woke up to this, and I'm honestly shocked if made it through the night.

Asked my partner to push the cart after he put a bunch of heavy shit in it (not because I couldn't but because I didn't feel like it), and he's been singing Now You're a Man (featured in the Trey Parker movie Orgazmo) ever since and honestly it's hilarious

it's (darkly) funny that the tech titans' politics are basically "we have no choice but to end representative government because my employees asked for a slight raise in 2020"

In a functional party system, this kind of capitulation in the face of authoritarianism could mean the end of the Democratic Party.

In our system, it could mean the end of the two party system. Neither party can represent the pro-democracy majority. It's time for something new.

look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry
