Idk where the idea that you should pretend you don't know what DID is when asking about a diagnosis from a therapist came from but from my experience it is horrible advice. I don't think you should lie to your therapist. Most therapists will take their clients concerns into account bc it gives them/

Does anyone else with a CDD mostly have alters who age yearly, all of our main active alters have a birthday they age on and even the way they appear in my head slowly gets older, only a small amount of barely fronting child fragments don't age for us #dissociasky

Does anyone have recommendations on where to find teen alters groups or something like that? Mortimer has been talking about wanting making friends outside of the system and ik a few of them feel kind of isolated bc they don't fully relate to our adult friends #dissociasky

Republicans are doing this because they want gay men and transgender women to contract HIV. They believe that dying of AIDS is a deserved punishment for having gay sex, just as they think that forced childbirth is a deserved punishment for sexually active women. This is not especially complicated.
Sorry, but we now have a once-per-six-months PrEP injection with a 96% efficacy in reducing HIV infections, and the response is to limit PrEP to only pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers? What?!
It's going to be much more expensive to provide lifelong treatment than work on prevention.

Actually I think if you're a large content creator it's unexcusable to acknowledge the harm in staying on twitter and yet insist on "phasing your content" over to bluesky. Just deactivate you're already way more privileged financially than most ppl be so fr

How do people find odd jobs we need so much more money in our lives but also low-key not trying to get a W-2 for it bc I cannot lose our SNAP benefits or we can't afford groceries 😭😭

Do not deny, disown, hate on, or punish the wounded parts of you. Not only can, & will, those parts of you heal w/ the appropriate care-- but the recovery we design & work to protect & heal those parts of us will saturate our life w/ meaning we would've never otherwise glimpsed.

Does anyone else have alters who are basically co-hosts for like half the time and then just completely gone the other half like silent and not fronting for months at a time and then just coming back and consistently fronting for hours every days for a few months straight

I feel like the Substance has some parallels to DID and while I don't think it was intended to portray that at all could be interpreted through that lens but I'm also high and tired

Been dealing with chronic pain all over my body and other random symptoms since middle school, we've been trying to go through testing and our PCP told us she's almost positive she knows what's wrong but it's almost impossible to get a dx and treatment apparently so awesome 🙃

Ik its kind of a stereotype and mostly we don't rly change clothes much between alters but having DID and having multiple alters who are very passionate about particular fashions and external self expression does kind of suck

Ik ppl make jokes about this but it's genuinely quite interesting to me how fundamentally varied alter traits and identities can be. We have no introjects or nonhuman alters, for example, but I can understand why that happens and I've seen system with only nonhumans
