In the United States, there are religious colleges who teach that homosexuality is wrong and students who become pregnant can be run off campus. Those schools get federal funds. This is somehow protected from regulation, but secular private institutions can’t treat trans students like human beings.

continues to strike me how much of trans validity discourse seems to boil down to not seeing trans women explicitly as faceted human beings but instead as rubber stamps & club turnstiles.

Because the thing about trans sports is that those "necessary conversations" have already been happening for literal decades and those "legitimate questions" have answers, you just don't want to actually know what they are if the answers show that you should be supporting us.

The fact of the matter is that the handful of trans women who excel in sports are the exception, but even then their achievements are often grossly exaggerated to stoke right wing fearmongering, and you incurious fools eat it up every single time.
