Dear Physicists and Physics fans,

I would like to encourage you to celebrate #WomenInPhysics Day this Friday, November 7th.

Why November 7th? Because it is the birthday of two of the most impactful women physicists of the 1900's: Marie Curie and Lise Meitner. 🎢 ⚛️ 🧪 👩‍🔬

Looking forward to this spooky Seminar organised and hosted by postdocs of the MPI-Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden tomorrow.
I arrived a few hours ago, just in time to witness the rehearsal for the Tim Burton-esque musical show.

From standing stones, menhirs, to the nuragic civilisation with so many surprising facets (sophisticatedly constructed towers, sacred wells, large stone figures, intricate bronze figurines): Sardinia is a great place to discover prehistory.

A post-ESITO treat: found this golden pendant in the shape of a chrysalis in the archeological museum of Cagliari, Sardinia. 7th cent BC. Phoenicians liked to decorate themselves with butterfly pupae! 🧪🦋

We had a great European Symposium for Insect Taste and Olfaction, ESITO, on Sardinia where I was invited to talk about evolutionary aspects. This was how spiders entered an insect meeting 😉.🕷🧪
#SilkeSachse and #MarkusKnaden for organizing it!

So true.
Confused writing is usually a symptom of confused thinking. As we struggle to clarify writing, we clarify our thoughts. AI writing aids rob us of that struggle, leaving clean-looking text and thoughts still confused for lack of inspection. Writing is not just a product; it is a diagnostic tool.

A fact and food for thought: "Google enjoys an immense amount of power in the scholarly community, and Google Scholar has a gatekeeping role, having "leveraged its system of citation counting into a tool that coordinates the scholarly economy"."
