Long Covid is common - ~1 in 5 people have it, and it's on the rise. Reinfections add to the burden. It's the most common chronic condition in children.

I participated in Star Trek fan zines in the early 90s and was reading novelizations, collected novelized fan works, zines, and magazines - basically anything I could get my hands on.
women are absolutely the reason modern fandom exists, and you can even trace the origin of the term "slash [fic]" to women!

it's frustrating to see men know nothing (or not caring) about what women have contributed to society while pretending they add so much.

Despite the enraging bullshit of deadly tantrums all around us I commit to being the person I want to be building the future I desire right here and now - an ethics of care in action building mutual thriving.

Intention and practice are powerful weapons in this moment.

“I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I'm 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. ... The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, ‘What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, ‘I'd rather die.’” 🫡
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.

✏️ Happy Labor Day! 🖌️

Did you know that AI “art” is labor theft?

Hi. I’m a professional traditional artist of over 15 years & I was able to make a decent living until 3 years ago.

In May 2023, over 50 of my paintings had been scraped without my consent to fuel AI image generators like Midjourney.

Moral clarity demands that Halifax not host the Israeli national tennis team - Halifax Examiner

One fun thing about shape-changing in myth is it implies that personal autonomy is so absolute that anyone, with the right skills and tools, can alter their form without needing permission from anyone or anything else.

Don't forget to do your deshrimping stretches y'all! XD
Big Stretch

This piece is a tribute to my cat and all cats, the little things they do truly captivate me. From their various meows and graceful stretches to their dramatic moments and firm boundaries (often mistaken for arrogance), cats are endlessly intriguing.
