Travelers visiting the United States from countries like Britain, France, Germany and South Korea could soon have to undergo a review of up to five years of their social media history, according to a proposal filed on Tuesday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The change would affect visitors eligible for the visa waiver program, which allows people from 42 countries to travel to the United States for up to 90 days without a visa as long as they first obtain electronic travel authorization. In a document filed on Tuesday in the Federal Register, C.B.P. said it plans to ask applicants for a long list of personal data including social media, email addresses from the last decade, and the names, birth dates, places of residence and birthplaces of parents, spouses, siblings and children. Under the current system, applicants from visa waiver countries must enroll in the Electronic System for Travel Authorization program. They pay $40 and submit an email address, home address, phone number and emergency contact information. The authorization is good for two years.

Dozens of vulture carcasses—at least some and probably all infected with HPAI—were reportedly left strewn about the grounds of an elementary school for days while bureaucrats wrangled over who would clean up the site, illustrating what appears to be a huge crisis of state and local capacity in Ohio.
Pierce Township officials said the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) initially refused to clean up or test the dead birds and only agreed to help hours after being contacted by the WCPO 9 1- Team. "They were very adamant that they were not coming. There was a recommendation that you just take them, put them in a bag, double-bag them and throw them in the garbage," said Pierce Township Trustee Allen Freeman. "It was very clear that there was no help coming.... Thanks to Channel 9, you guys reached out to ONR, and amazingly, they started to change their tune." "(ODNR wasn't) overly concerned with the situation. They really had no intention to come out and do anything for the problem," Wright said. "It did upset me. I was a little surprised. It's a wildlife issue. There's no better agency than them to deal with a wildlife issue." Over the next few days, Wright said he contacted local public health and emergency management agencies for help to come up with a contingency plan, while the dead birds remained at the school.

Truly sorry to keep posting these but I cannot believe this book is real.
The raccoon could not believe his luck. A block of cotton candy, all his. In the viral footage, his pride apparent, he carried the sugary loot to the puddle. He put it down. Poof. In less than a second, it dissolved in the water, as if it had never existed. But it had existed. Right there within his paws. He had just seen it, had just held it. The raccoon did not understand. He grasped at the water. Where had it gone? He brought his nose to the surface and looked down. He waded deeper to search. He moved his arms through the water. Nothing. There was no trace of the object. There was just what he remembered.
