WE WON. I am *begging* you to take note of who did this. *Not* UCLA admin—they’re still scuttling around behind closed doors, attempting to appease—but FACULTY AND STAFF, led by AAUP.
BREAKING: In AAUP et al v. Trump (wall-to-wall union lawsuit challenging the administration’s unlawful use of TItle VI to reshape the University of California system), the faculty and staff of the UC system WON!!!

We were granted our preliminary injunction! @aaup.org

The International Criminal Court is ditching Microsoft Office, saying it’s too dependent on US tech, in favor of Open Desk, a German open source alternative.

The move comes after Microsoft revoked ICC head Karim Khan’s email access when he was sanctioned by the US for the warrant against Netanyahu.

It notes that between 10/23 and 11/25, the US sent $21,700,000,000 in military aid to Israel and authorized $30,000,000,000+ in new weapons deals.

It's fucking wild to go on Zillow and see how every suburbanite real estate agent trying to sell a townhouse for 5x more than anyone can afford fucking HATES your neighborhood and wouldn't live here for free but is forced to write chipper marketing copy about how cool and walkable and quirky it is

i keep hearing 'mind numbing' being used to mean like fun or exciting, instead of extremely boring. Is this an indication of language drift or an indication that so many ways of having fun now are about turning your brain off and losing yourself to numbness?

I dream of 4 minute headways and trains that aren't crowded as shit
I-90 light rail update: before the end of the month, 2 Line testing will start extending up to Lynnwood, with out-of-service trains running in between normal trains. Riders won't be able to board, but this will be a preview of what 4 minute headways north of downtown look like.

Woah, what the hell was that? Bruce just said that there are people telling him not to concede because there were "anomalies." That's a wild and irresponsible thing to say.

I think I read this makes the mortgage on a 400k house only $200~ less per month but means you pay $1 million over the lifetime of the loan
Kevin Hassett: "The 50 year mortgage is just one of many many policies that are currently being studied ... the argument for it is that it would really lower the monthly payment. The downside is it would take longer to build equity in the home."
