"But maybe you touch one life
And the world becomes a better place to be
Maybe you give their dreams another day
Another chance to be free"

That's why I keep going, right there. My symptom profile is high octane nightmare fuel, but as long as I can make a difference, I have something to fight for.
This song hits me hard. It's about living your life to the fullest before you get old, & I essentially entered old my senior years in my early 30s.

Various health issues have massively shortened my life expectancy & given me a bunch of symptoms commonly associated with old age.
The Crüxshadows – Birthday
Roll out of bed, look in the mirror / And wonder who you are / Another year has come and gone / Today is your birthday / But it might be the last day of your life / What will you

I highly doubt they're actually leaving. This entire administration lies about everything. Wherever they go next - ORGANIZE.

Build resource groups ASAP

Organize spotters groups.

Hold neighborhood rallies, get familiar with your neighbors.

Load up on whistles

Familiarize yourself with SALUTE.

A few months ago there was a protest on Roebling Bridge in Cincinnati.

Multiple people were beaten by officers.

One cop was put on “administrative leave”.

The people were protesting ICE kidnapping Ayman Soliman, a chaplain at the local children’s hospital.

He was detained for 73 days.

Sometime in the next few years at most, I'm probably going to die. And I refuse to go the long way as my body slowly suffocates me.

If I can swing it, I want to be a guest at my own wake. Go out after a party with my favorite people. Not too soon, though.

🚨Azine is in multi organ failure, especially her kidneys. She's unlikely to live much longer.

I don't want her to die in an unheated squat with no running water.

Please help me get her into a hotel or airbnb? She hasn't had heat or running water in weeks, severely exacerbating her medical issues.

It. Will. Never. Happen.

The GOP wants to dominate, not cooperate.
These Senate Dems are all "Now we can roll up our sleeves and begin the hard work of sitting down with our colleagues and having a real dialogue about doing the business that the people sent us here to do with common sense solutions to the problems that everyday Americans..." shut up shut up shut up

How is this still happening in 2025? 13 infants hospitalized for botulism contaminated ByHeart formula. The 2022 crisis exposed similar oversight and manufacturing failures with Abbott. 3 years later, gaps are still there, and Trump’s FDA cuts only make things worse.

#ActuallyAutistic

Anyone else have similar experiences to share?
I just discovered a big upside to being an integrated personality (someone whose beliefs & actions are always or almost always in sync, common among Autistic people).

With all the thinking I've done on death with dignity, I'm having a lot less trouble than expected coping with a dying loved one.

She's immunocompromised and doesn't have a working toilet.

Check the OP. Search your couch cushions. $5 would make a significant difference.
Unstable electric & internet.
Extreme humidity, unable to do laundry, nothing dry, stuff soaked within hours for 2 whole months.
No water since 22 October, and before that 21-30 September.
In October when there was water, mostly cold ONLY.
The people cutting off the water, cut off the sewer also.

Last Monday, I experienced a kidney crisis like never before and nearly died.
This weekend, I had to medicate extra to cure a DVT leg as my entire right leg got several shades of purple due to the cold.
I barely sleep anymore from the extreme cold and humidity, I wake up every 10m with symptoms.

Organs affected, by now debilitating: spinal cord, coordination, muscle, autonomic nervous system, heart, kidney, lung problems.
TCM said mainly my kidneys but that only got this bad because of the severe circulation problems, kidneys are very vulnerable to blood vessel problems.

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

Reason # <ERROR:OVERFLOW> to get vaccinated: I know a semi-professional musician who's deaf in one ear from measles when he was younger. How much better would his music be if he'd been vaccinated?

I doubt we'll ever know.

I have a song for that: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Rqa...

"One day my father, he told me
"Son, don't let it slip away"
When I was just a kid, I heard him say
"When you get older
Your wild heart will live for younger days"

genius.com/Avicii-the-n...
I don’t have a whole lot of advice for people younger than me but the earlier in life you stop worrying about what other people will think and just wholeheartedly enjoy the stuff you like the happier you’ll be
One thing people kind of tell you, but not really, about middle age:

One day you'll be like "oh [thing] looks fun but people will think I'm a loser" about a thing

And then you'll say. Wait a second.

Fuck 'em

We live in a cruel, unfair world. But there are good people doing good things all over, & "look for the helpers" is easy if you start by looking in the mirror.

Helpers tend to band together, after all. And activist communities run on earned respect.

have definitely been surprised at the dry cleaner it is pretty difficult to keep a pink sequin suit low key
I hope you're never at risk of being unmasked without your consent, but now I'm picturing a series-of-mishaps comedy about almost being - signing the wrong name, being surprised by your dry cleaning, etc. Each time censored from audience POV by increasingly silly visuals/sound effects.

Forgot the log header, so we're gonna start today's thread from here.
Went to start laundry and then remembered I'm out of detergent.

Then I remembered I have the small bottle of Woolite I got to wash my hat, so I was able to use that.

Just finished having a buttery breakfast.

CVS is best thought of as a kind of interactive museum exhibit where you can experience everything that has gone badly wrong with American capitalism.
You almost have to respect how CVS keeps frantically changing their systems like every other month and each time it gets progressively worse

Just had a cool idea ✊
@bibiblossoms.bsky.social any chance of a "radicalization level" pin with the blade going higher with each setting & somehow conveying that it's ready for use when fully "charged"?

Probably not feasible, but the idea is fun.
