Here’s the latest; it’s a mandate from the federal government that K-12 teachers bully their students. If they don’t? Jail. There is no policy aim here. The cruelty is the point. Now is the time to listen, learn, and get engaged.

i think it is important to say that the open and explicit racism of the president and the vice president isn’t just uncouth or “controversial” but a direct attack on tens of millions of americans and a dereliction of their duty to represent the entire country

robert f. kennedy jr. submits his application to harvard university. his application is, in its entirety, a single page with his name "Robert F. Kennedy Jr."

he is accepted immediately.

Per a source (my brain): If any single person involved in public planning, policy or politics would just grow a single vertebrae in their spinal column, that would be a great start.
Per an NIH source:

“Discussions with colleagues have suggested that if the universities all come together and raise hell about the delays to funding caused by not holding meetings, that might move the needle. From every state. There are well-funded universities in red states that will be impacted.”

My strongest hopes for the Biden Administration were that he would:
- Commit to being a one-term president
- Work across the aisle to roll back the imperial presidency
- SCOTUS reform
This actually was a fucking ridiculous miss by the Democrat trifecta. Even if it wasn't Trump, another Republican, possibly a very MAGA one, was going to be president again some day. Fucking chip away at presidential unilateralism!
It’s a good thing we have so many laws letting the president do whatever he wants as long as he calls it an emergency

Not just some people, but all people—on Earth—must watch this video and share it as widely as possible.

Every word of it is true, and it confirms that Elon Musk is a white supremacist leader stoking violence around the world.

His two televised Nazi salutes were exactly what you thought they were.

Won’t hear this from Rep. Mike Thompson.
HELL YEAH! Congressman Jim McGovern TORE Speaker Mike Johnson a new for saying it wasn’t “his place” to question Trump’s January 6 pardon.

“Not your place?? WHO THE HELL’S PLACE IS IT?” He said.

“How about you stand with the officers who protected you and not a reality show wannabe dictator.” 💙

Massachusetts’ 2nd Congressional District is just 3 points more liberal than California’s 4th. Where is Mike Thompson?

I hear there are stories coming, but putting the brakes on our country’s world-leading medical research system feels like a five alarm fire and I don’t see a newspaper that even has it on the front page yet
Shutting down medical research — not just within NIH, but everywhere that’s funded by NIH — will have long-term effects on medicine & short-term effects on state, higher education & hospital budgets. This affects all of us, not just researchers.
The assault on NIH is a test for how the national media covers the Trump admin: Trump is shutting down medical research!

That is easy to communicate. Will they treat it as a 5 alarm fire in a way that forces the government to respond, or will they downplay & caveat it?

The White House ordering DOJ to drop pending prosecutions is a breach of the department’s traditional independence that would be an earthshaking scandal under ordinary circumstances.
To clarify this, Trump commuted the sentences of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers convicted in seditious conspiracy cases. He has pardoned everyone else who was convicted, including those who assaulted the police. And he has ordered DOJ to drop any pending cases.

I don’t remember it being taught in school, but a big part of the school integration fight that followed Brown was the rash of states that chose to close schools rather than integrate.
It’s the same calculus conservatives use today in cutting off benefits or anything that might help a minority.
