We just translated a wave of our ICE coverage into Spanish. No paywall, no email signup necessary. From leaks about Palantir's work with ICE to ICE's new facial recognition app, we think there is a massive public interest in this info. Read why and support us here: www.404media.co/were-publish...

In honor of Bill, I felt it relevant to share some of the great wisdom he bestowed upon us from the dais. From taking turns trying to find Bill around city hall, as he dreaded some of his meetings, to sorting his entire office staff into harry potter houses, I truly enjoyed my time working with him.

Even if you don't live in the Rio Grande Valley, someone you know might be connected to our border community! Please help us by sharing ✨🫡
The Rio Grande Valley is beefing up their rapid response network to better meet the needs of folks along the border. We're answering calls, providing know your rights trainings, and trying to share this number as wide as possible to alert people of possible ice activity. Please share widely ✨

A reminder that after years of speaking out against Epstein and giving other survivors the courage to come forward, Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre died by suicide in April at the age of 41.

Let's not forget that there are real human tragedies behind everything we're discussing.
Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein's most prominent abuse survivors, dies by suicide
Other Epstein victims credited Giuffre with giving them the courage to speak out.

Hello Friends! @blacktranstexas.bsky.social needs our help. The last thing a shelter for trans people needs - during Pride, no less - is to have their electricity shut off.

Please, if you can, consider donating. And I will send a FREE signed copy of my memoir to whomever makes the biggest donation!

Hello love, can you share our mutual aid efforts to save our trans shelter from closing? There are currently 15 trans women including myself staying here and we are on the verge of closure if we can’t come up with the funds this will put many of us in danger to be displaced

I received irrationally furious emails and messages from strangers who really really really do not like that I constantly tell people that:

1. Yes you need to know who your neighbors are.
2. We are interdependent and cannot survive without other people.

These are basic true things.

If you have limited time available, consider devoting it to fundraising for small projects and groups. There's a lot of need for funds and fundraising has become absolutely more difficult. Pick a group in your area and take it upon yourself to raise funds in all the ways you can.

This. The narratives or arguments that separate out “criminal” from “innocent” immigrants (this includes when media and politicians emphasize stories of “perfect victims”) are bad—it implies that some people are actually deserving of criminalization and deportation, of cruelty and violence.

Paxton wants privacy during his divorce. I needed a good laugh! Where is that energy for people seeking abortion care? Where is that energy for abortion funds? Where is that energy for people seeking abortion care while Paxton encourages abusive partners to report them??

I'm trying to get information on the new military zone designation here in the Rio Grande Valley. Does anyone have a good resource for understanding what this actually means for folks living here?

This highlights such an important complexity in self managed abortion work because it involves the demedicalization of a process that has, and continues to be, safe and effective and exists with or without clinical care.

This abortion method doesn't involve doctors — and many of them consider it safe
