Knowing about religion & folklore also gives us insight into the development of human thoughts & ideas. It helps us understand how language, social norms, taboos, foods and other cultural markers came to be. What values we emphasised & what morals deemed important.

We are made from dust and to dust we must return.

Ashes to ashes, earth to earth, dust to dust.

May those still with us find peace & comfort and may those who have departed be met with abundant love and rest eternal.

Tl;dr: Shaming those who hope their oppressor will die is wildly out of touch with the lived realities of powerless people who face oppression.

Maybe it isn't good for our souls, but it's better than believing we deserve to be oppressed. It's better than acceptance.

Once I was talking to a priest friend about how I don't like Lent, and she told me that for many marginalized communities it's a time to remember that oppressors are mortal.

"Dust you are, and to dust will you return" applies to the rich and powerful as well as the poor and vulnerable.

There was a French folk saint called St Foutin who was an unofficial patron of fertility and virility. Devotees would pray for healing by engraving waxen images of genitalia and suspending them from the ceiling (to the chagrin of regular worshippers).

Many religions and mythologies have triads of gods, but the concept of a triple deity is also surprisingly prevalent. A triple god or goddess is a deity who has 3 distinct aspects, or three deities who function as one.

You maybe be familiar with the best know classical example; The Fates.
