I’m afraid, just like Brexiters, they will deny that all the harm has anything to do with them.
I know everything feels grim right now but let's be realistic. These people are idiots. They're going to tank their economy. They're going to fuck-up every deal they sign. They're going to leave America looking shattered and deranged. And all those who supported them will look as idiotic as they are

The best way to avoid a leader making you look absurd is not to elect an absurd leader. See also Truss, Jenrick, Braverman, Johnson etc etc.

London please help. I’m praying for a miracle, I’ve just got into the office and noticed my mums locket (in all these photos) that I wear every day has fallen off my neck on my walk in. My mum died when I was seven and her jewellery is most of what I have of her. I’m devastated

A powerful piece from Ben, who excels at longer form news interviews. With a story like this great images really do it justice and Iain Watts (not sure he's on here!) delivered as ever
Yesterday I spoke with Yasmin Wilson who has made a heartbreaking plea for information more than 20 years on from her mum's murder.

In an emotional interview she revealed she, along with her cousin, found the body of her dead mum.

Just in case it says “invalid handle” next to your profile, this is what you need to do.

One part of our upgraded infrastructure may affect your profile.

If you see your handle now says “Invalid handle,” please reverify it by navigating to Settings > Change my handle > Type in your current handle > Verify DNS Record > Update.

(Basically, update to the same handle.)

Whenever I pop into X now, I'm just struck but how much worse the user experience is there with a timeline full of pointless ads, little engagement and pointless to post when external links are throttled.

Once I've finished archiving my COVID threads, I'll close up that account.

Labour caving to some of the richest people in the country - whilst raising the tax burden on employing the low paid - has been described as the "lobbying coup of the decade."

But how bad is it? 🧵
