@mp-spears.bsky.social 90's I explored US Army War Collage US History: Read a paper that shortly after WW1 Pershing (or Butler?) went to congress off the record to complain because of 4F's we could not defend the country. Hence the push for child nutrition & ed (rickets, scurvy, read, write, math)
