Grief is weird.
When my sister-in-law died in February, I powered through what needed to be done. When my grandmother died in May, I forced myself to work and study.
I've grown numb to my brother's multiple near-death ODs.
All that... but I can't look at a litter box without ugly crying.

Apart from everything else, the major reason I'm not able to properly appreciate nightcore for what it is is because I grew up on the 1980s cartoon version of "Alvin and the Chipmunks", so I every time I hear it I get this vivid mental image of these guys belting out 00s German Eurotrance:

It annoys me unreasonably when a fancy map of political regions uses a dozen colours and still ends up with two polities that share a border being the same colour. Like, "solving the four-colour problem" is an exercise we give to 1st graders, and you couldn't do it with twelve? Get out of my sight.
