This can't just be fought by classroom teachers using industrial action. It needs the voices of the big MAT leaders putting pressure on the DfE and Ed Sec for the good of all. Those voices of influence need to be using that influence now.
Yikes. Schools pay review board set to propose a 4% pay rise but only 2.8% is funded. Schools would have to find an extra £300m+ if no extra funding on offer.

The Cape Town bus tour plays an amazing soundtrack with the commentary, including Toto's Africa (CD available). You've never truly heard Africa through headphones until you've heard it half way up Table Mountain through tinny earphones that only play max volume. Pure, unadulterated joy.
Songs that you really need headphones to appreciate properly.
1. Stolen Car. Beth Orton.
2. Teardrop. Massive Attack.
3. Idioteque. Radiohead.
4. Africa. Toto.
5. Hoppipolla. Sigur Ros.

1) This summarises an image as text for alt-text - either long form or short - I do usually edit it to my own requirements but makes a good start.

I use a lot with students, for kind of ‘life skills’ stuff. It can help with feeling overwhelmed, if people don’t know where to start. Of course, needs checking, but ‘give me five healthy recipes for dinners under £5 per head’ can help!
