If I had a book out I'd plug it here. But I don't. So I won't. (but I would if I did)

Local news understands we need some respite. East Midlands has just trailed a trip round the Melton ring road.

We are seeking some really communicative play testers for our upcoming game, Clues in Sprues.

Bonus points if you have a strong Social Media presence, but we value feedback just as much! No prior experience needed.

Since the #Olympics are on, let's repost a classic thread here: a brief history of the practice of "sex verification" in sport.

Content warning: This thread will mention anti-intersex discrimination, FGM practices and body shaming.

Writing a thing and have been looking at A level and GCSE subject combinations. I love that art can be specialised, but it doesn't half make having a glance turn into doing some maths 🙄

House to ourselves again after a gang night out to see #PunkRockFactory. A good time as always but ready for my nap now I reckon. 🤘😴🧓

I've not bought an edu book for a while (too much of the same old), but this is one I'm really looking forward to. I've used David's writing advice in various guises over the years and in the last 6 months for myself going back into proper essay construction. #EduSky
Students don't struggle to write well because they lack talent or effort but because we demand essays before they've mastered sentences.

Should clarify the first two are ours, the second two are the pros. Realised it read a bit like they'd done the lot! You can find details of the exhibition here: www.nottinghamcontemporary.org

Look how special our boys are, having their work in the gallery 😎
February 6, 2026 at 8:18 PM
Today I am 45. It's the viewing of our pupils' work at Nottingham Contemporary this evening and I'm the only one who can go (probably including the boys) so I shall see how my silver boots are in the rain, drag Howard along and it shall be my pre party (we're off to see Punk Rock Factory tomorrow 🤘)

Nottingham Contemporary have moved their learning space up into their galleries. Our boys have spent the last few weeks working with an artist on the theme of rivers and journeys and today they added to a wall shown alongside the new exhibition opening tomorrow.

Today started with a school minibus leaping over speed bumps, weaving around potholes to Total Eclipse Of The Heart blaring out - half the bus singing, half the bus yelling for it to be turned off, and it was all very old school SEMH road trip vibes.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

This is preying on my mind a bit. Jeffrey Epstein was not primarily a British scandal! So far we've removed a Prince from the Royal family, fired our US ambassador who was one of the most important political figures of the last few decades and banned the CEO of Barclays from the financial industry..
One by one, Europeans mentioned in the Epstein files who still hold political office are beginning to resign or are being forced out of office.

Meanwhile, ruled by an administration almost entirely made up of Epstein associates, the US carries on as if nothing really happened.

Today I had another pupil freaking out after a college visit and colouring his hands with chalk (told you, every January at least one), a Yr10 telling me about when he got stuck in a washing machine, and explained HIV/AIDS to Yr11s.
