HURRAH! Petitions are crap at making gov'ts do things they don't want to. But they are good for two things: First, making them explain why they won't do something, but second (and more important) nudging/giving them permission to do something they DO want, but that's been crowded out bandwidth-wise.

60,000 people – 0.001% of the world’s population – control three times as much wealth as the entire bottom half of humanity.

Top 10% earn more than the other 90%.

They control govts, means of production; inflict civil strife, deaths; thwart possibilities of democracy.

Tax the rich.
Just 0.001% hold three times the wealth of poorest half of humanity, report finds
Data from World Inequality Report also showed top 10% of income-earners earn more than the other 90%

The fact is no presenter has ever had to leave the BBC for expressing conservative views, or even explicitly endorsing a right-wing party.

Private equity firms preying on vets practices.

6 firms control 60% of UK practices. Same firms control pet food, insurance.

Wages down, fees up. Pet owners skipping meals to cover costs, hand pets to rescue organisations or euthanising them.

Change law. Only qualified vets to own vet practices.

Politicians must stop listening to corporate lobbyists and start listing the people.

82% of us want water in public ownership. Thames Water is collapsing, so that would be an obvious place to start.

Another week. Another ‘crackdown’ on immigration. Because Brexit exploded it. It created labour shortages and ended our shared EU arrangements. Then all the far right uglies went to town whipping up anti-immigrant sentiment for power.
Until govts are honest about this, they will continue to fail.

This is absolutely shocking. Surely instead of cutting benefits for disabled people, the moral thing to do would be to introduce a wealth tax on the very wealthiest people in our society?

Will UK Govt tackle corporate tax abuses?

Public Country-by-Country-Report shows companies shifting profits to places with little/no employees, physical presence.

In 2015 UK govt legislated, but didn't implement. In 2023, law repealed.

EU, Australia requires info.

Why won't UK chase tax abusers?
UK governments are failing to curb corporate tax abuses and leaving people to pay the price
Governments remain obsessed with austerity and choose not to inconvenience the rich or curb tax abuses by corporations.
