The Orioles claimed Shawn Dubin off waivers from the Astros. Dubin was drafted by the Astros in 2018, when Orioles GM Mike Elias was Houston's amateur scouting director.

Josh Hader just spoke and it is way too much to summarize here, but the gist is that a return this regular season is not likely, but there is some hope he could come back for the postseason in a one-inning only role.

Cristian Javier's first start since May 21, 2024: 5 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 85 pitches, 53 strikes, 40 swings, 18 foul balls, 10 whiffs, 90.1 mph average exit velocity. Five of the 10 whiffs were against the sweeper. So was Alex Bregman's homer. All in all, a very nice return

Lance McCullers Jr. threw 13 pitches in a scoreless inning. He touched 93 mph on the stadium radar gun, hit Dylan Crews with a breaking ball and got two groundball outs. The entire Astros dugout applauded him as he left the field.
