Astros signed a minor league free agent, Anthony Maldanado, who declared free agency from the Marlins. He had a great April and June then got lit up the rest of the games, he is short reliever and not a starter. I would expect more of guys like this to build depth.

Astros signed a minor league free agent, Anthony Maldanado, who declared free agency from the Marlins. He had a great April and June then got lit up the rest of the games, he is short reliever and not a starter. I would expect more of guys like this to build depth.

the trade is to save that 5-6 million while getting another great glove for league minimum that you have until 2029 if you want. They are shaving money for a starting pitcher hopefully.
Dubie is a great dude and will be missed. That said, paying $5-$6M for what SHOULD be a bench guy who gets 200-300 PA per season when you can get similar production (esp defensively) for $1.5M with longer club control makes sense. #Astros
