Literally says Border Patrol on the guy's chest. Again, it's not that the specific mistake matters all that much, it's what it represents: a media that views itself as too important to bother with details, which are left to contract fact checkers making $20/hr

This becomes a lot more intelligible once you realize what they *think* they're doing is trying to prevent the mass detection of American Jews to the Republican Party because the Democrats allowed Mr. "Globalize the Intifada is a land of contrasts" to became mayor of the nation's largest city.
The liberal establishment is putting more effort into stopping a progressive from becoming mayor of New York than they are to stopping all of Trump’s illegal actions combined at the moment.
Former President Bill Clinton is endorsing former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, his former HUD secretary, as the Democratic establishment tries to attempt to ensure Zohran Mamdani does not win the Democratic primary for NYC mayor. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/22/n...

Odd that he doesn't get the actual point of the city-run grocery stores: a place that 'sells' groceries where there is no enforcement against shoplifting. It's just a food pantry without the stigma of a food pantry.
Imagine the terror: a few extra grocery stores

What did y'all think ,"Bring the war home " and "Globalize the intifada" meant? vibes? papers? essays? losers.
The replies to this are full of people yelling at Kat, a Palestinian-American politician, for not supporting the shooting of low-level staffers in DC, which has only had the effect of drawing coverage *away* from the genocide in Gaza & provided a pretext for future suppression of peaceful protests.
I’m horrified by the murder of two Israeli embassy staffers at an event in DC last night.

The fact that the gunman said he did it to “free Palestine” makes me nauseous. Murdering people for their nationality is never acceptable and this violence hurts Jews, Israelis, *and* Palestinians.

The bitch of it is, Trump & Co. would love to be known in the public imagination as the guys who stopped paying for Medivac flights in sub-Saharan Africa. The domestic constituency for this kind of stuff is pretty much the user base of BlueSky, plus whatever is left of the Soft Power Appreciators
Two of Musk’s most strident goons manually, one-by-one, killed lifesaving programs even those Rubio wants credit for trying to save, on Musk’s orders.

I have no interest in tone policing Canadians, but I do hope they understand that the reason Americans are looking at it this way is because they know it really *IS* a bit. It's the equivalent of the bully pushing you into a locker and then saying he's gonna rape your mom. The absurdity is the point
Idk man, it's not a bit

Y'all can dunk on this poor bastard all you want, but many thousands of real, live voters make their decision on the basis of stuff like "The liberals decided that I'm a racist for calling it a master bedroom and a master copy." Govern yourselves accordingly if we want to grind MAGA into flour.

Since the whole "HR's job is to back the company, they're not your friend" trope is making the rounds again, can we go ahead and etch "Unions's job is to back the narrow stated interests of their members, they're not your progressive friend" onto Lord Stanley's Tumbler?
don't you understand? it's not unions' job to have good politics. its their job to suck shit and hope for corrupt handouts. wait wait where are you going what happened to SOLIDARITY
Two influential New York City labor unions that backed Mayor Eric Adams in 2021 switched their support on Monday to Andrew Cuomo, reflecting his growing dominance as the race for mayor accelerates.

Spider-Man 2 was a fine movie but its politics were a bit iffy. wouldve been way better if at the end the Spider-Man turned to the camera & said "i am communist now" & then specified hes the exact kind of communist i am
rewatching raimi's spider-man 2 and what's killing me about these movies is just how laser-focused they are on class dynamics. 14 minutes in aunt may starts crying because she gave peter 20 bucks for his birthday and he tried to turn it away and she's ashamed she can't afford to do better by him

I wanna try to keep my dunks measured and non-gratuitous at a time like this, but "professional podcaster and artist-in-residence at Harvard can't believe people still have to do work when bad things happen" really just writes itself. You're a professional vibesmonger, get a grip.
