May you find the bridge into your next season, where you let go of the years leaves and start sending nutrients to your roots. Contemplate the months you’ve weathered, even if it was harsh this year. What you shed is the nutrient of next years soil.

You will find a magical forest path in Haliburton, Ontario at Glebe Park, called the “Haliburton Sculpture Forest”. Totally unexpected unique carvings and metal artworks are scattered through an easily walkable 1.4 km path. Highly recommended!

May you all find the blanket of comfort under a canopy near you. Trees always find their way to the sun no matter the weather. Take deep breaths, sit on a stump, close your eyes, smell Fall. Find your sunlight in the shade.

So I picked up this giant maple leaf today on my forest walk. It’s Canada 🇨🇦 perfect. It is the mish mash quilt of all the people who make up our stunning country. All the colours and influences unified in one palette. We are #canadastrong and every day I am more proud of what we stand on guard for.

Went apple picking today with the family. All of us are adults now but acted like kids, between the rows of juicy goodness. They looked like dressed Christmas topiaries. Gala and McIntosh were ready this week, but each week it’s another variety. Nothing says Fall like apples. 🍎

I should not be able to get this close to a water bomber. There is a fire 🔥 a few km from our home across the lake in the Kawarthas. Every place on earth is hot as hades or is on fire. 🔥 It all feels very apocalyptic.

Sweden’s law bans leaving dogs alone over six hours. It requires walks, social contact, and safe conditions. Breaking the rules can lead to fines, inspections, or up to two years in prison.

Our corgi Rex knows how to open the windows using the buttons to take in fresh air. This makes me think of Ace Ventura and I laugh every time.

Part of Canada’s golden dome. It’s very woke n’est pas? Things looked ominous until they didn’t. Just like life sometimes, where you must wait for the rainbow inside the black cloud 🌈

Merlin bird ID told me the birdsong you hear in the background is the Baltimore Oriole. I have been sitting outside all morning trying to spot it. Good thing this mama grackle is entertaining as it flies back and forth to feed its babies. This ol church has seen better day

On our first day renting a canal boat in eastern France, we saw magical things. What is life like to be this woman who walks her horse along this canal each morning? Photo unaltered.

If Aurora hunting while you’re under a comforter in a luxe bed is more your style-there is a place. Glass dome hotels at Apukka in the Arctic Circle, Finland. Nocturnal tourism is the new trend. This was a top 3 life experience for me.

If you need a kids book that will make you cry in a good way with beautiful illustrations and messaging of hope and strength. I wrote notes “from mom” beside the passages.

Went on an educational Finnish reindeer walk in 2024. Yes I walked a reindeer on a leash. It was extremely dangerous and the guide carried a knife in case one attempted to break our ribs. These animals are essential to the Sami people. Unforgettable
