Bottle episodes, holiday-themed clip shows - these were the building blocks of our civilization, all gone now.
tv seasons should be 22 episodes long and at least 30% of those should be pure crap
i don't want to hear your most boomer complaint. what's your most millennial complaint?

every time I (woman in my twenties) have to iron my work shirts (it should be a daily occurrence, but let’s be real), on some small level, I understand the 1950s mad men yearning for a trad wife (solely to never have to do my own ironing ever again)

To be clear, the occupier has no right to self defense.

Occupied peoples OTOH have the right to struggle against their oppressors. Including via armed struggle.

Innocent civilians are still protected but I dont know whether an illegal occupation that conscripts most of its citizens has civilians.

Democrats and Republicans are so equally evil and scummy that it really is embarrassing just observing so many people exhibit cult-like, emotive tribalism defending their preferred conman and criminal over one just as corrupt but in a slightly different flavour

“Abolish ICE” is the moderate position. Radical is “prosecute every ICE employee under RICO.”

I talk about getting my PhD way too much for a woman who literally just completed her masters and complained the entiiiire time • but also imagine how powerful I’d be if I got it & it finally cured my imposter syndrome.

I have zero patience for “do climate work but just don’t call it that”.

I am not talking in code about an existential threat bc a handful of Americans like profiting off oil and gas & have managed to brainwashed another handful of Americans.

Don’t capitulate. They’ll take your funding anyway.

I think it’s important to remember fascism does not only win because of how people vote in a single election. Or even two. That is not the first and only cause. And if your institutions were resistant to fascism it would not succeed in consolidating power within a few months.

This is what the U.S. does to people, incl. legal residents, who criticize a foreign country's genocide, all while we fund/back that genocide to the hilt. The purest distillation of fascism & the natural disgusting conclusion of smearing people who condemn genocide as terrorists

yes but also what if we just give them a path to stay and don’t require them to justify their right to exist based on how much they ‘contribute’. a human’s worth is not something that should be reduced to being an economic matter
Instead of deporting undocumented, tax-paying immigrants by using the IRS, why not create a legal path to status for them? They paid over $96 billion in taxes in 2022 alone. With a real path to legal status and without ICE breathing down their necks, they would contribute even more.

Businesses were already bracing for a crash. Then came another 50% tariff on Chinese goods.

"The whole [tariffs] debate is so fundamentally backwards & upside down. It's based on a fallacy & the fallacy is this: that somehow in a trade, someone must lose. That somehow when you trade with someone, someone is taking advantage of you...I have a trade deficit with my grocery store.”— Rand Paul
