These clips should be shared at least as many times as the one with the Nazi salute. There should be at least as much discourse about this. Cowardice is contagious, but courage can be, too.
Wow. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde fearlessly calls out Trump and Vance to their faces. This is heroic.

Mamdani: Oftentimes when we win elections, we tell people to go home and just trust us. But the message really has to be that we want you to come along with us… That’s something we’ve been looking to share with New Yorkers: We want to not only win with New Yorkers, but also govern with New Yorkers.

Sometimes I forget that the old twitter is gone and I want to go check on my friends and then I remember that they're not there anymore and it makes me very sad.

This parasocial relationship with @mrbrettgoldstein.bsky.social = the highlight of my week.

(parasocial = me literally writing a poetry chapbook titled And Please, Now More Than Ever, Be Excellent to Each Other 🫣)

I've thought about this all week and I came to the conclusion that minus all the wanton executions, Don Corleone is just an admor running a chassidishe hoif, iykyk.

One of the things about being in college with people who are more than a decade younger than you is that when they talk about something being of its time, or of a different era, that era may very well be the premodern year of our lord 2008.

The first memory I have of hearing a dramatic story is in preschool when my teacher told the story of Hillel sleeping on the roof in the snow, and niche reference but if I'm being perfectly honest that is the moment that turned me anticapitalist.

My mom called me last night about the Kimmel firing, saying "This is how Hitler got started!" I quickly responded, "By firing the late night tv hosts?"

Turns out, mom was right.

What do you do in a world where the people who taught you kindness and empathy and compassion and to never look away when you witness injustices are, at best, indifferent to irrefutable evidence of a genocide perpetrated in their name and, at worst, openly justifying it? Where do you go then?

Sure the two synagogues on an island joke is funny the first time you hear it but "איר פארגינט נישט פאר א איד נאך א יאר אין די לאגער" never gets old and I'm sorry, I don't know how to translate it.

Recently got back into writing poetry and have been getting feedback about the absence of formal structure "possibly due to the poet's lack of formal training" (duh 🙄) so I googled what the most difficult form of poetry is and because I hate myself I'm now writing a sestina, stay tuned I guess.

Going down a Bob Dylan rabbit hole and in the 1965 documentary Don’t Look Back, when asked if he's religious Dylan says "religious, what does that mean? Does it mean you bow down to idols?" And I need to know if outside of the frum conception of goyish religion, was this a regular thing people said?
