So interesting. A colleague wisely pointed out that banning student use is a little like abstinence only ed - useless. But we do need to figure out how to get them (and us!) to use it appropriately within discipline. And, we absolutely must change motivation and engagement. They need a WHY.

I’m in. I have all kinds of ideas about behavioral health and education rebuilding. Let’s go!
This, but with society as the unit of analysis is basically my whole thing right now. Get out your vision boards for parallel institution building. Nope. Don’t tell me what can’t be done. Tell me how we figure out how to do it.

Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.

Read this.
I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.

You know what (y’all know that’s a dangerous phrase sometimes)…I’m just gonna go read my Goffman and call it a day before I burst a blood vessel this morning. I need to protect my shreds of peace where I can find them.

It doesn’t matter if benefits are partially funded. It doesn’t matter if they end up fully funding them in a week. They’ve held what, 42 million people hostage for days with this. The stress levels, the worry, the fear, the toll that takes on bodies and minds. The extra time some folks need to take

Another day as trans folk in paradise. You don’t have to like her to know this is vile.
someone went up to sarah mcbride in front of the u.s. congress, hurled her deadname at her loudly and called her a pedophile repeatedly, posted video of the exchange to x, and it is now going wildly viral

i will not share the video

but if you’re not speaking up about this, you’re hurting yourself

This was an extremely difficult piece to write, with more re-writes than I think I’ve ever forced myself to do.

I was able to speak to about a dozen family members and visit one detainee within Adelanto ICE Processing Center. Please give it a peak.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court granted the Trump administration's request to enforce its discriminatory passport policy while our lawsuit makes its way through the courts.

This decision undermines the freedom of transgender, non-binary, and intersex people to have our IDs reflect who we are.

someone make up shirts that say "I could smell the onions and mustard" with a sandwich logo and give them out to protestors, this should be the defining line of these lil babies lol
Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest.

The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says.

I despise these people. I don’t know how they sleep at night and I hope they hear her screams.
I used to feel conflicted about feeling that way, but there’s such a thing as right and wrong. They are just simply wrong and will have to answer to their own makers one day.
I'm shaking almost too hard to type. I entered SLC airport and heard screams and cries for help. I could see people gathered around, watching. I sped over to discover this woman face down on the floor, four grown men pushing her down, while she cried "HELP ME" and pled for her child.
