!Messy feelings below!

I realized a truth that made me burst into tears: I just want to be loved by a partner, truly & knowing me fully, just once before the collapsing world swallows me whole. I've never had that. The pain comes from the truth that it may forever be out of my reach.
So it goes.

In ashes we dwell, despair takes hold,
Nature's bounty turned to cold.
No solace found, no light, no cheer,
In this darkness, we disappear.

It is with great sadness that I announce the death of Doom. Doom died peacefully in its sleep last night following an altercation with climate activists clad in the armour of magic invincibility. Our thoughts and prayers and hopes go out to all Doomers at this difficult time. More as we get it.

The doomer concept of the day is “ecological overshoot.”

It refers to the idea that humanity is degrading the Earth faster than nature can sustain, likely leading to environmental collapse.

Its drivers are population, consumption, pollution, or the fossil fuel-powered global Industrial society.

The doomer concept of the day is plague.

A plague is a severe and often deadly disease that can spread rapidly, causing widespread damage and disruption. Prevention is hence paramount.

The concept can also be used metaphorically to describe situations where something harmful spreads uncontrollably

I've been to several 'post dictatorship' countries. The damage to the country, its people and institutions lasts much longer than the dictatorship did -- and once it 'fails' the country doesn't recover easily; damage lasts for generations.

Yes but how much pain and suffering and the loss of lives before it fails?
All dictatorships fall.

The incoming one here will, too.

The doomer concept of the day is despair.

It is a profound and overwhelming sense of hopelessness. It's an emotional state where a person feels that their situation is so dire and insurmountable that there's no possibility for improvement or positive change.

Losing hope does not imply despair.
