Banning trans women from attending the Labour women's conference is a pretty clear violation of human rights. It's not even supported by the now broken Equality Act. I hope someone sues them over this. They would lose at ECHR
BREAKING: Labour will formally recognise trans women as ‘men’ tomorrow. It means trans women will be banned from all women shortlists and all Labour women’s groups. Revolting. The party’s relationship with LGBT+ is over.

It's really frustrating how much historians of antiquities put historical cisgender sources on a par with historical transgender sources when determining whether trans people existed in the past.

The Tories that used the Covid-19 pandemic as a personal money-making project, knocking back support and help that could have saved LIVES over profit for them and their VIP PPI grifting buddies should be seeing court cases for manslaughter.
Astonishing evidence at the Covid Inquiry.

The Government repeatedly ignored offers from the Crick Institute to provide mass testing on a national scale.

Instead, the Government paid Deloitte consultants to project manage, not yet established, privately run labs.

The UK has dropped massively in both ILGA and TGEU's rankings, which have been published today. This means a material decrease in rights.

This isn't just shameful on the international stage - it means needless misery for so many LGBTQ+ people in this country.

UK plummets down rankings for LGBTQ+ rights
Last month’s Supreme Court ruling has seen the UK fall six places to 22nd. It’s time to fight back

Agree with all of that apart from the last paragraph. I think we as humans have a tendency to want to be optimistic and hope there’s still a hope things change.
Just ten years ago the UK was top of the list - the best place in Europe for LGBT rights. We are now 22nd

The only country to drop faster in one year than us is Hungary

The government needs to act in a major way before this becomes their entire legacy

Agreed that the rubicon has been crossed. However it’s delusional to think a new leader of the controlled opposition party will make any difference. Best thing to do is to leave the UK. #Translocate
Starmer has crossed the far-right Rubicon. There's no coming back from this. Progressives owe him nothing anymore. His Blue Labour poison has handed the future to Reform. The only way to stop that is with a new Labour leader and a complete pro-EU reboot.

Good news in the short term, however can we really rule out this happening in the future with the Reform Party on the rise? Best to have an escape plan

"it would have forced trans people to..."

I think the UK is about to learn a big lesson is trying to force this community to do anything.
Some rare good news for trans people – the transphobic amendment to the Data Bill was defeated by a large margin. It would have forced trans people to out themselves virtually daily, putting people's safety and dignity at risk, so it's great to see MPs reject it comprehensively.

Cis supremacist should hold the same level of disgust and horror in your mind as any other kind of supremacist. They all want the same things
Even for the sadistic Sex Matters, this is hideous.
But they give the game away about what this is all REALLY about. The worst nightmare for people like JK Rowling is a future where trans people grow up imperceptible to c!s. Harder to mock and bully. Natch, they copy in NHS trans torturer Steeting.

Is this the first example of a UK organisation to try and ban trans people from using the facilities? This is an effective ban on trans people working there. I don't know if banks provide toilets for customers?

I just do not care if it costs a Pride organisation a load of money, fighting against our oppressors is the only reason you exist at all. Liverpool Pride HAS TO drop Barclays
Barclays Bank are big sponsors of Liverpool Pride. I hope they have the decency to remove their name, return the donation.

Zero trans professional footballers currently. This is just another step in restricting how trans people are allowed to exist in public. Expect more to come. Time to leave the UK #trans

Strangely, when independent sentencing guidelines caused a far-right furore, Mahmood leapt into action to attack the independence of the judicial system and had a bill to overturn them ready to go within days.

Almost as if she's just a bigot.

Politicians should be saying "trans people have always used public spaces alongside everyone else, there's never been an issue, this whole thing is made up nonsense, banning them would be a human rights abuse, which is why I'm introducing primary legislation to protect them"
I'm seeing certain politicians appearing to be standing up for trans people, but always stop well short of saying we shouldn't be barred from facilities of our sex/gender.

Making someone like me use the men's is obviously cruel and a human rights abuse, but nobody in politics will say it. Why?

Lots of places count LGBT people existing as a sex crime
Controversial opinion, but this is a bad idea. It arguably violates the Refugee Convention, which has very limited exceptions for refusing to process claims. It'll act as a de facto death penalty for many, which violates numerous laws. There's something more though. 1/

A plea. Please stop calling it interim guidance. It's not guidance, and the EHRC don't call it that. It's an "interim update".

They only say that the guidance remains forthcoming.

This is genuinely driving me potty (more than I usually am).
