Protect the vulnerable. Share resources.

Take breaks.

Remember that joy is rebellion. It's not frivolous. It's absolutely vital for getting through the coming years.

If we are going to survive the next however many years, people are going to need to get grounded and not crash out about every little thing. Freaking out about everything is a perfect way to not have the energy needed for the heavy lifts.

We do not need to cede him any more power than he will have tomorrow. He won the popular vote by 1.5%. He did not crack 50% of the overall vote. His win does not mark a sea change in public opinion. He, his policies, and his cronies will be unpopular. Rest up. Take care of yourself. Then...

Everything happening with TikTok this weekend is a show and happening outside the legal system. I’m looking at it this way: TikTok shut down to send the message to users that Trump wanted to fix it; TikTok is coming back up before the inauguration because Trump wants it up for his inauguration.

That guilt you feel about not being able to support every GoFundMe for folks who are suffering?

That’s actually rage at a corrupt system refusing to support its people - a rage carefully steered away from the system so you struggle with yourself & not with the institutions that deserve it

I think we've all been very much in the mode of thinking big platforms, more followers, more views, blasting things out is the way to go--but it can be better to have a smaller group of people who are REALLY inclined to support you than a big platform of people who are disinterested/not local/etc

Hi, sorry, I’m back. I don’t know yet how much I’ll engage with this platform moving forward, but I do want to expand my social horizons when it comes to meeting more writer peers. I’ve been having a lovely time in Discord, but I don’t want to get too siloed. So, here I am.

I just started playing Definitely Not Fried Chicken & it’s a lot of fun! It’s pretty challenging & I feel there’s a lot of variety to how it can be played. Wish me luck with my 420 empire! #gaming

Exactly this!! It’s the social media I most regretted leaving because it helped me build my career as a writer & gave me community unlike any other platform (except maybe Tumblr).
For a lot of us, losing Twitter isn’t really about losing ties to the company itself. It’s losing 10+ years of real, asynchronous communities, professional development, the ability to get gigs and clients, the ability to promo/share your art on an extremely broad scale. The loss of that has impact.

Thanks to the Board of Wildflower Composers for some productive plotting today ❤️💐 Philly, it’s been good!
